Even though the Parisian museums have finally reopened, your Hotel Eiffel Blomet team is inviting you this spring to discover a young street artist for whom the world is one gigantic gallery in which to display his photographic work: JR. Following on from the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and the Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, among other locations, the young Parisian artist tackles two legendary places: the Trocadéro and Saint-Germain-des-Prés ...

Reinventing the world

Using the technique of photographic collage, JR frees himself from dimensions, perspectives and space. Roaming the world, he captures life in all its gravity and lightness through his lens, blowing the results up to gigantic proportions that deceive the eye. These he exhibits in urban spaces and for this very special year, JR takes over the Esplanade du Trocadéro and a wall in Saint-Germain-des-Prés for the Parcours Saint-Germain contemporary art festival.

A canyon in the heart of Paris?

The magic of JR's trompe-l'oeil suspends the Eiffel Tower above the void. In fact, playing on the magnificent perspective seen from the Parvis des Droits de l’Homme, he composes in collage a deep canyon spanned by the famous Iron Lady. A figure gracefully plays with the void as it leaps across it. In Saint-Germain, No Trepassing shows a giant male figure, greatly resembling the artist, climbing over a wall. Guaranteed amazing!

Your Hotel Eiffel Blomet team invites you to gain a fresh perspective on familiar places by discovering JR's temporary exhibitions this spring in Paris. It will also be an opportunity for a delightful stroll in these magnificent locations in the city’s heart...
