Imagine stepping into the world of the novel Au Bonheur des Dames by Émile Zola... For an experience on the border between the imaginary and the real, Le Bon Marché presents a unique immersive theatre creation. Try it during your stay at the Hotel Eiffel Blomet.

Au Bonheur des Dames and Le Bon Marché

From the publication of the novel in 1883, it was obvious that Zola had been directly inspired by the then-new concept of the department store. Le Bon Marché, which was formerly a small haberdasher's shop, offered the first department store experience in the world thanks to the vision of the couple who conceived it, Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut. Thus, it was only natural to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the opening of the store that inspired Zola's story by bringing Zola’s story into the store!

An immersive theatrical experience

From September 2nd to December 30th, 2022, Le Bon Marché offers a unique experience in which the public is invited to participate directly in a play inspired by Au Bonheur des Dames. To do this, an entire floor of Le Bon Marché will be converted into a theatre set complete with actors, and you can wander and interact as they perform. From 20:30 to 23:00, this floor of Le Bon Marché will no longer belong to our century but to the 19th!

Upon arrival at the Hotel Eiffel Blomet, remember to book your immersive evening at Le Bon Marché; a unique and unprecedented experience that will take you away from everyday life and plunge you into the world of yesteryear.
